What is HCG?
Known as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, the hormone HCG occurs naturally within а woman's body during pregnancy. Secreted by the placenta, HCG maintains correct progesterone levels needed for а healthy pregnancy.
Over fifty years аgо, the scientist Dr. Albert TW Simeons, during a study of obesity, discovered it was possible to successfully deploy HCG for weight loss alongside а low calorie diet plan. Unlike other weight loss diets, the use of HCG during a calorie controlled diet maintains muscle mass; in other words, fat is lost, muscle is maintained. The maintenance of muscle mass ensures the preservation of weight loss for the long term.
Initially, the diet protocol relied upon self-injection of the hormone. Since then, however, it has become possible to administer the hormone through the use of oral sublingual drops. For some, especially those with needle phobias, this is the preferred method.
So, which formula is the right one for you? Below we shall take a look both the traditional, injectable formula, and the more comparatively recent, HCG oral sublingual drops.
HCG oral sublingual drops need to be taken sublingually. In other words; they are to be taken and held under the tongue. The exact dosage within the drops will vary according to the amount of HCG you wish to take each day. However, in all cases, regardless of intended weight loss, the drops will need to be administered between three and six times per day. Ideally, in order for the drops to be effective, they should be taken at the same time each day.
Plan ahead. If you work outside the home, or have a busy schedule; it may be necessary to set the alarm on your smart phone or other device, to ensure you do not forget to administer the dose.
HCG intramuscular injections by comparison, need only to be taken once per day. This one and done daily dosage can make it the preferred choice of those who are busy, or anyone who just hates the idea of constantly having to think about their HCG during the day.
Both oral sublingual drops and injections require the strict adherence to the four phases of the diet protocol. Even though the oral sublingual drops need to be administered with greater frequency; you are not getting ‘more’ HCG. You can’t load up on calories during Phase 2. Additionally, both the drops and the injections require refrigeration. Another reason why some proponents of the HCG diet protocol, prefer injections; they can maintain the temperature of the HCG hormone at home. For those working in an office or other location, maintaining the integrity of the HCG drops away from home may prove too difficult to maintain.
I Hate Needles! This is probably the number one reason why people prefer oral sublingual drops over the injections; the idea of sticking a needle into their body, falls beyond the threshold of some would-be HCG dieters.
Ultimately, after checking out your HCG supplier, you must decide what is right for you.
What is Bacteriostatic Water?
Bacteriostatic water differs from sterile water in that the addition of the preservative, benzyl alcohol means that the water has a longer shelf life, and more significantly, can be used again, after the vial has been opened. In fact, bacteriostatic water can last as long as 28 days after the vial has been opened to the air. Due to lack of preservatives, sterile water comes in single use only vial and should be completely discarded after use, even if there is some remaining fluid. Any left-over bacteriostatic water can be used until the vial is completely empty provided it is stored and used according to instructions for up to 28 days. HCG Supplies does not sell sterile water. The preservative, benzyl alcohol does not have color, and has a very low toxicity level.
It should go without saying but is worth mentioning anyway; a habit of strict cleanliness must be maintained when participating in the HCG diet protocol. If you are storing HCG oral sublingual drops in your refrigerator; make sure it is clean. Even more important; your injections, HCG, and bacteriostatic water must be maintained at the specified temperature and in a clean environment. Sort out your refrigerator! This is not the time to cram your supplies next to left over Chinese or your kids’ cold pizza slice. Store your vials in a sealed dark container to protect from light.
Laying it Out There
When mixing or administering the injections, ensure everything is set out on a scrupulously clean surface, ensuring there is nothing nearby that can contaminate it. Remember, your needles, your HCG hormone, and your bacteriostatic water must all be treated with the same level of precaution and cleanliness.
Wash your hands first, make sure they are completely dry on a clean paper towel. Do not use traditional toweling fabric to dry hands; you might pick up tiny pieces of lint that contaminate your supplies. Proceed with the mixing and injecting in accordance with the guidance provided.
HCG purists advise that during your HCG diet, use of make up and other related beauty products are restricted to one or two items such as eyebrow pencil and talcum powder. This is because it is felt that oils from the cosmetics products are absorbed into the skin and once there, will interfere with weight loss. If you must use products, try products containing mineral oil as it has zero nutritional value. Even so called, healthy, organic products containing soy, almond or jojoba oils have the potential to interfere with weight loss progress, making them not the best choice during this time period.
Hard to Believe
According to Dr. Simeons, the creator of the HCG diet protocol, women find it difficult to believe that the amount of fat in their cosmetic creams and make up can have a direct impact on weight loss during the phases of the HCG diet. In fact, Dr Simeons points out that workers coming into contact with oils and fats as part of their work day: masseurs, beauticians, food preparation workers, all absorb fats while on the HCG diet as though they had ingested it!
During the HCG diet it has been shown, participants become very sensitive to the absorption of fats through the skin.
Not Your Average Diet
In a world of quick fixes and fad diets; it is interesting to note that considering the amount of do’s and don’t’s associated with this protocol, it has been around for half a century! Chances are, you are looking at HCG supplies because you are seriously interested in participating in the diet protocol. Yes, there is some work involved. It involves preparation and very real commitment during the four phases.
This is not your average shake and go style diet.
Then again. You’re the sort who demands better than average weight loss and weight that stays off.
