Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), іѕ а naturally occurring product within the placenta of pregnant women. It plays а critical role in controlling metabolism of body fat, throughout pregnancy giving the fetus an unlimited and immediate energy supply even when the mother hasn’t eaten.
As a diet plan, HCG is one of the fastest growing weight loss trends and rapidly gaining popularity. Used in fertility treatments, the diet version of HCG is obtained from the sterile ingredients developed in laboratories.
The HCG diet plan incorporates а 500 calorie per day diet supplemented by HCG diet injections.
For the brave among us, this post is all about the shots.
The first part of the HCG diet allows you to eat whatever fats you want. Chocolate, fried chicken, pizza, hot dogs. Anything at all so long as your body is getting loaded with the appropriate amount of fats needed for the start of the diet. This is referred to as the loading days of the HCG diet.
During Phase 1, the first of the two HCG injections are administered. Numbering 23 injections in total, they must be taken at the same time each day, with the right number of calories. Each injection contains a minimum of 125iu (or up to 200iu) of HCG.
From the 3rd injection onwards, Phase 2 commences. During this phase, dieters consume no more than 500 calories a day for approximately 21 days.
Weight loss between a pound, and a pound and a half per day can be expected.
The 500 calorie diet must be continued until 72 hours after the last injection.
Expect to pay for the cost of the injections yourself. However, like most things meant to benefit us, consider the HCG diet an investment in yourself, and your future health. You can pay now or pay later in obesity related diseases, such as diabetes, coronary related diseases, and overall ill health. Each illness brings its own set of expensive medications, and inevitable side effects.
That said, it makes sense to budget both for the cost of the supplies and the food. The HCG supplies website is packed with great tips and tools all to help you succeed on your HCG diet plan. Contact us with any questions you might have. We will be more than happy to help you.
The 500 calorie restricted diet, followed while administering the HCG shots is called Phase 2. Unless advised, no more than 500 calories should be consumed per day. While on the diet, refrain from starch and sugar substances such as breads, salad dressings, and obvious items like candy and chocolate.
Sugar free Coffee and tea are permitted, however creamer is reduced to one tablespoon of milk per day.
Food Items such as pepper, salt, mustard, vinegar, parsley, and other similar herbs are allowed. These can be used as salad dressing. Butter, of course, is not allowed.
Aim to consume organically produced fruit, vegetables and meat if possible.
For lunch, and dinner, several kinds of proteins and vegetables are allowed. For instance, organically fed veal, beef, boneless and skinless chicken breast are permitted. But no more than a fist size portion. Low mercury fish, high protein white fish are also a great choice. A portion of leafy, green vegetables are allowed at each meal. Broccoli and kale are both great choices due to nutritional density.
A reminder; HCG is a pregnancy hormone, therefore before embarking on the HCG protocol, it is wise to speak with an appropriate medical professional prior to attempting to conceive, or if taking birth control medication. Additionally, if you take medication or regular prescription, consult your family practitioner beforehand.
Additionally, refrain from supplementing the HCG diet with other weight loss and thermogenic supplements. Remember to stick specifically to the recommendations laid out by Dr Simeons in his diet protocol. More is not always better.
HCG Is not another fad diet. In fact, it has been around since the 1950s, making this one of the oldest, new diets around. At the end of the day you get out of the HCG diet protocol, what you put in, like most things in life. This diet does take discipline and commitment, and an amount of preparation beforehand.
At the end of the day, if a long-term commitment to a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating choices is your goal, then this diet may be for you.
Making the HCG diet, the least fad diet of them all.
